PROGRESS

28-02-2012
Angelita is good spirits after the tribute that held for her at the peña Torres Macarena last Sunday. Despite her physical instability and her slow recuperation, her positive outlook and eagerness to recuperate are admirable.

Last Saturday I saw Angelita. She was very excited and waiting for use to arrive. She had had a Feldenkrais session last week a few days after her last session, where she experienced a slight difference (for the better). Since we've been going on Sundays, Angelita asked if she could have another session on Sunday, she likes it you see, but she has to have a whole day of complete rest.

Now you can see her move her fingers a bit and she managed some muscle contractions in her arm, which even she was able to feel and she was really pleased. Now we have her rehabilitation guaranteed until February 2012, but we can’t guarantee her hospital appointment without voluntary transport. We’re counting on you, do I have to beg? Well I will, I’m begging you.

We’re on our way to see Angelita...Toshi with his weekly help.... it’s tough now... when the results come slowly and it's difficult to find motivation.... but Angelita is strong and wants to get back to teaching next year. Let’s help her achieve this. Let’s all say we have participated in this achievement!

I saw Angelita yesterday! she looks good. We arrived as she was having her hair combed and put up ready for Toshi's lesson in Feldenkrais. We’re nearing the 3 month anniversary since all this happened. Her progress is going to be slower now and with ups and downs according to doctors. But she's still responding favourably to the therapy. Last week i saw her practicing going up a single step. Yesterday she told me she now can go up the whole stair case at the centre ok, about 5 or 6 steps, but still great!!!!

Please keep up your wonderful encouragement. This is when Angelita needs it most as her progress isn't going to go as fast as before and we need to give her all the motivation possible, as well as your donations. Let’s see if we can get December and January guaranteed for her rehab.

Yesterday I saw Angelita at last! she looked so well and pretty, and kept laughing!! she even got up off the sofa on her own and walked round the living room with a smile from ear to ear while saying "Ea, has visto?" PLEASE keep donating!! seguir donando!!

Yesterday, after the summer holidays, Angelita resumed her treatment with Dr. Crespo. She went without her wheelchair! All were so happy to see her progress. DR. Crespo has no doubt as to her being able to be completely take care of herself and independent. This though can be achieved through treatment and therapy. So it's necessary to keep donating and helping her so as to be sure to guarantee her recovery of which we now know can be gained.

Angelita keeps up all the good work on her end of the bargain. She's doing wonderfully with her team of rehab specialists. She's able to take a few steps, with assistance still. The cane hasn't been assigned yet - too soon. But she's confident on keeping her goal. It's now up to us to keep up our goal and be able to maintain her access for the rehabbilitation at the private brain damage centre.

We're going to have to work harder (almost as hard as she is) and make sure that we can guarantee more than just 2 & 1/2 months of which we can at present. Please gather your friends and classmates and together make your donations. Even if it's just $1 or 1€ each. With a group it can add up.

Today I was with Angelita. I saw her walk, the written words are still difficult to believe before my eyes. I saw her before but with help and support. Now she is doing things completely on her own. Although Mari is always next to her in every moment in case her leg or balances gives way. It’s incredible! Angelita is very happy, although she knows she hasn’t achieved all her goals yet and wants to carry on with the therapy and work hard with this. She still has a long way to go.

We also gave her a scrapbook that Helen sent of all the messages that everyone has sent her through facebook and the blog as well as an affectionate personal message from Jairo. The scrap book has many photos that she liked a lot and the article that Manuel Borhoquez published last month in the Correo de Andalucia as well as a copy of the message that Angelita published in facebook just recently. This book made her very happy. Angela loves surprises and nice details as much as visits. Thanks Helen and Jairo

Takako 14-08-2011. Angelita's most recent accomplishment.

Angelita is improving daily. Let's keep funding this vigorous and obviously effective rehabilitations and treatments. We are on the verge of having to reduce her appointments due to the low funding. Please help by donating any amount you can contribute. It is easy through Paypal - you don't have to have a Paypal account and you can use your credit or debit card.

This past weekend Angelita showed a lot of progress. She's reponding well to the doctor's treatment and the sessions with Toshi plus the first few days of therapy at the Brain Damage Centre where which she enjoys and likes very much. Her own progress has become her motivation along with all of your good wishes on your part.

Now she not only has sensibility in her right leg but can move it, bend it, and even elevate it a bit. She can sit up in a chair perfectly well and each day she has more sensativity in her right arm. Las Sat. she had reflexes in her arm and on Sun. she was able to raise her shoulder up high .She showed me so proudly her acomplishment after she'd finished her session. We spoke about her desire to send a message to all of you. So soon we'll be posting a few words from Angelita herself.

¿HOW CAN WE ASURE REHABILITATION?
It’s 4:24PM. At this moment Angelita is starting out her second day of rehab at the Brain Damage Centre at the Nisa Hospital in Catilleja e la Cuesta (outside Seville). At this moment, she'll be with her new therapists and professionals who will help her throughout her long journey.
Does anyone know how she got there today?
Can anyone tell us if she'll be able to go next week, every day?
Next month?
TELL US HOW WE CAN CONTINUE HER HEALING.
AT THIS MOMENT WE CAN ONLY DO SO IN ONE WAY, BY MAKING DONATIONS.

I visited angelita two days ago with her niece francesca. she looked beautiful and calm. she ate a good amount of japanese sweets i brought (yokan) that showed me that she has good appetite. she was talking clearly and understanding everything we were saying to her. i was touching her right arm and foot and i felt the energy that they want to move again soon. i showed her some of her pictures that were posted on this wall and she was very happy to see them. i am sure whatever we send them (donation, healing energy, love), she will get them and recover soon.

I was with Angelita today and she was gorgeous! It is incredible how quickly she is recovering. She is talking very well now and much more then a week ago. Today the doctor said she will be walking very soon. Angelita was super happy when I read her everyone's comments from Facebook. Thank you. Thank you so much for supporting her and loving her!

Angelita needs public and especially private rehab. Every donation, even small donations, are very helpful right now, because the sooner Angelita can literally do rehab exercises, the quicker and easier she can recuperate.

I just got back form San Juan. Toshi did another IF (Integral Function - Feldenkrais)session with her. He noticed that although she still can't control her right arm or hand, there seems to be on a very deep way some kind of 'response' to his work. He's happy because he's observing this in the last 2 days.

She looked very good. Had good colour to her skintone and was quite energetic. Happy to see Toshi and an old friend from Japan who drove up from Jerez to see her, Makato a singer who's sung for her before during some of her workshops there. IT was very nice. She loves it when her japanese friends come as well as her students from ALL OVER. So visits are welcomed! With moderation though. And she herself is always asking for her students to come and see her.

She's still a great trouper. I can't help think how hard and scarry it is for her and how she keeps a smile on her face(although when we left she seemed a bit down) and is willing to work hard. We we told her she'd probably be trecking to and from the rehab centres twice a day ( morn. National Health - afternoon, private brain damage centre, because the N. health can't give her half of what she fully needs) She said, 'ok. Let's go'. I think I love her more than ever! She's amazing! ¡Ole mi tita!

I just got back from visiting Angelita at her house. She can sit up on a sofa, she is speaking better but she does have aphasia, I could see it today; but her mind is very sharp and she is inspired by the therapy she has gotten so far from the private doctors. Social security will do its evaluation on Tuesday. I am so glad that we have gotten her this medical attention sooner. Her spirits are pretty good.

I just spoke with the private brain damage rehab place again and they're very positive that they can help her but it depends on getting her started soon.
